My I-485 is current as per Aug bulletin (dec 2004 eb2). Any suggestions on how to make sure the application is processed by IO? Anyone with prior experiences/success doing this?

We need volunteers for the following positions/shifts:
3 pm - 6 pm - Taking Orders and Cash

6 pm - 8.30 pm - Taking Orders and Cash
6 pm - 8.30 pm - Serving
8.30 pm - 10.30 pm - Taking Orders and Cash
8.30 pm - 10.30 pm - Serving
I will be there from 12 pm along with 2 family members and ALL of the supplies needed. We will take care of the chopping/prepping/frying.
But we need 6 people in the front!

yes, 485 processing and 140 processing is different. They are joined thread, So they will not approve 485 until your 140 is approved.
Thanks Marphad. BTW, do you have any idea what could they possibly ask for 485. I provided everything they've asked for when I first filed the case. If not, I guess I'll find out in a few days.....

Hi,
I got married in 2008, but my wife came with me to the US in Dec 2009. I got married while my I485 was pending due to priority date backlog. I understand that I can add her to my I485 application when my priority dates are current (Jan 17 06). My questions are:
1. How many days do I have to file after my priority dates are current (in case I do get my green card in the interim)?
2. She being a non-Australian born Australian citizen can legally work in this country on a special E3 visa. But I am not sure whether she can be added on my green card application while working on the E3 visa? If thats not possible, the only 2 ways she can work and be added o GC is to apply for H1b (probably not available till October '10) or wait till my priority date is current, file for I485 and EAD and wait for that?
Thanks a lot in advance for any help regarding this.

I think you get AP in out of Country when you are applying.
I'm in same boat as you couple of months of back and i canceled my trip as I got advise from Expert (Attorney) that AP's approved when out of country are not valid.

Hello,
Has anyone used ICE MILLER as their legal counsel (immigration attorneys)?
I am planning to use AC-21 provisions to change jobs. My new employer is going to use ICE MILLER in Indianapolis to process my H1-B transfer.
I was wondering if anyone could share his/her experience with their staff and general suggestions. I would like to use them for any RFEs or filing any AC-21related documents.

Hi
My H1b was approved in feb 2010 for location A.Before I could start working at location A,my company found a better client (close to home,better pay) at location B .(different state).
what should my company do or have done with regards to lca for me to work at location b.
should lca have been approved before I moved to location b or could it be filed after i started working at location b. If lca was filed after I started working, is that ok.If not, how do we correct this.

My labour got approved but we still have to file for I-140. My h1b is going to expire on May 2007.

I had a lot of emotional and financial distress upon my graduation and I didn't get to apply for OPT. What do I do?
I mean I know I need to go speak with the dept that handles intl students in my school?
But, like, any pointers or information to please assist me?
Any constructive information/help, will be useful!
Also, I am looking into getting into graduate school within the next yr to yr and half!
If you graduated 1 year ago and was no longer a student in this last year, and did not apply for OPT before graduation, then you are already out of status - your F1 status ceased when you graduated. Moreover, your I-94 most likely said D/S. So the I-94 covered your stay only during the time you maintained F1 status. So you have been accruing illegal presence time. 6 month of illegal presence would trigger 3 year ban on reentering US; and 1 year or more would trigger a 10 year ban.
The prudent thing for you to do is to go back to your home country, and come back with a proper VISA.

look at the vfs website (you will get a link to it from consulate website). They have specified some particular HDFC branches in metros, where you can deposit the fee to get the receipt.

"I would like to hear your professional opinion on the following issue: I have been on F-1 visa for 7 consecutive years. I have an employer that has sponsored me as a Graphic Designer. In fact I have obtained the I-140 through him already. I recently applied for employment AOS (July 25th) with my wife (She is on F2 visa) and I'm currently waiting on the Notice Receipt. School starts on August 20th and I'm hesitant on when exactly the new Immigrant Status starts. Do I still need to enroll for classes in order to maintain my visa? I don't intend to finish school due to financial difficulties, when exactly may I drop out from school? Should I remain enrolled up until I receive the EAD and AP?
