thanks!! it's always good to hear that i'm improving from someone as good as yourself. it was funny, as i was going back the dirt road, the party kids from the night before were on there way out, they don't know what they missed this morning.



That's why you get up at 4:30! My friends make fun of me for that... The successive ridgelines in the fog make for a real feeling of depth. I've tried that technique a few times, but never pulled it off this well. I also like the aspect ratio you chose, it contributes to the 3-D, receeding-to-a-point, effect. The color here is likewise very nice. The only thing I would say could be better is that the sun is distorted by the cloudline. It would be better if totally obscured, or better resolved. In any case, you can't control the clouds. Super shot.

You can use either the current edition of 06/05/2008 since that's the version on USCIS web site or use the older version until July 31, 2008. From August 1, 2008 you MUST use the 06/05/08 edition only. I am sure your doctor will have the older edition.

I had applied for my H1B extn and got an RFE. Lawyers replied to it and its almost 7 weeks now, haven't got any reply.

Is this a usual timeframe? how long will it usually take for USCIS to take any action on the RFE's after the reply was sent with all appropriate documents?

I like both, initially perhaps the color version a bit more. If you can touch up the slight red-eye problem. The faded border works better with the b&w though, so all in all I'd finally go with the b&w. Cute girls!

My employer let me signed 3 contracts. First was for the year 2006 then two for 2007. They said they just changed a few things but it is the same. The previous two contracts said if ever employment is terminated prior to an agreed date, reimbursement to the employer will be pro-rated. The 3rd contract was changed to reimbursing the employer the full amount of the contract which means H1B fees, recruitment fees, sign-on bonus and reimbursement. I was not aware that they've changed the reimbursement because I did not read the third contract anymore because they said it's the same.

Is it legal for the employer to charge the H1B employee the H1B fees, recruitment fee, sign-on bonus and reimbursements? I applied directly to my employer but they hired a recruiter and was just made aware of the huge amount after working for 3mos with them. They never gave me a copy of the total amount of my contract until I asked for it.

They filed for my I-140. It was already approved and just waiting for the I-485 to be filed.

I have EAD that is valid till Dec 2007, but I will be on leave of absence overseas from mid Feb to October , 2007. ( my Travel parole also expires in Dec 07)

My I-485 is pending with PD Jul 2002 ( EB3 india)

Will this time off destroy my Green Card application?

( does the EAD lose its validity if I stay overseas for >6 months and will this impact my GC process?)

Reminded me of an incident when I was a teenager, a budding cricketer and was a huge fan of Nike sports shoes. I would see these uncles with big paunches wearing Nike and would think that the world is unfair that people like me don't get to wear Nike while random uncles do. Completely random thought!!!!

The point being - the situation we are in, we hope that our plight should be a discussion point in every conversation that India and US ensue in. It crossed my mind a couple of times that we should have pushed for it. State of mind I guess.

Do you think anyone will even mention (hopefully get solutions) the eb backlogs to the President when he is touring India? Do you think anything good might come out of it for us?

The President has started revealing his plans on immigration for the next year. It sounds like he's planning on trying a do-over with Congress and attempting again to get a comprehensive immigration bill passed. He'll make the case for this in his State of the Union Address. I'm happy the President is still interested in working for change, I sincerely hope he is not making passing a reform bill his SOLE strategy. I'm reminded of Presidents in the past who regularly spoke in favor of something, but you just knew they didn't really care and were just trying to appease...

I have been arrested on Domestic Violence call by my wife ( of cource false allegations) about month back. Police investigation did not find any evidences and never sent file to DA for filing hence DA never filed charges.
Now USCIS requesting following

1) Please submit an arrest record and final court dispositions for each of your arrests. Court dispositions must be in the original and bear the stamp and/r seal of the appropriate court or clerk. If a court disposition or police record is not available, you must provide official or certified evidence from the appropriate law enforcement agency or court confirming the record in unavailable. Please note, these documents must either be the original or certified copy.

How to get court deposition or evidence that no charge are filed against this arrest?

I have filed petition for expunging arrest record but that will take a while to conclude.

Please advice what proof I can send to USCIS that this arrest did not even result in charges in court.

Hello,

I need an urgent information. My visa stamping in my passport got expired, but I have valid I-797 document. I am planning to have my visa restamping in India. I came to know that with expired visa stamp we can not travel via UK and France. Can you please advice if I can travel via Frankfurt, Germany? or do I need to get a Transit Visa.

Anyone who has travelled through Germany with expired H1B visa stamp?

I have to travel within a week and I would appreciate your advice.

The USCIS Webmaster has returned to work. His EAD must have expired on Friday hence the site must have gone down, but the new one is approved and hence the site is up.
